Amaryllis

We sell our Amaryllis kits from October until December in stores, made with everything you need to grow your own amaryllis plant. Inside you will find a saucer, a bag of soil, a pot and an amaryllis bulb. These are beautiful flowers for the Christmas season, and you could potentially have them rebloom the following year! See below for tips to grow and regrow your amaryllis.

How to Grow your Amaryllis…                                          Amaryllis After Care...

Column

  • Plant in Soil

Plant your bulb 2/3 the way into the soil provided. Add a little bit of water.

  • Watering

Water 1x a week, and once leaves begin to grow, increase to 2x weekly.

  • Temperature

While growing, your plant is going to like warmer temperatures. Room temperature with sunlight will be just fine.

  • Blooming

Your flowers will bloom in 6-10 weeks, and there could be multiple blooms at different times!

Column

  • Cut the stalks

When your amaryllis stops blooming, cut the stalks that the flowers came from, leaving the leaves. Continue to water once a week, treating it like a house plant until the end of the summer.

  • Dormant Period

In the beginning of September, you can take your plant and eliminate any leaves that look wilted. Water your plant one more time, then move to a dark, cold and dry place, such as a basement. Leave there for 6-8 weeks with no water.

  • Restart

Bring your plant back to the warmer environment, and restart the process! It is not 100% guaranteed your plant will bloom again, but don't be discouraged... You can try again next year!
